Last one!!!!!
I have been looking through our new site for awhile now and I LOVE IT!!!! It's easy to find anything you could ever want and very appealing to the eye.
I think this is so much better than our old one. I didn't spot anything missing, but I'm sure stuff will come up as we go along that will need our attention.
I'll miss our Webolution fun!!!!
And I'm still gunning for that gift card :)

Task #9 - Universal Class
Good morning!!!!!
Universal Class is SO, SO amazing! What a blessing for those of us who can't afford to take college courses, but want to improve their skills. I will suggest this to anyone who will listen.
The options are endless and it's super easy to sign up. I plan on tackling 3 of the writing courses. Something I didn't think I could afford or would have the time for.
As far as the whole library goes, we should definitely choose 1 course as a team and then have an hour to work on it together once a week or something.

Task 8 - Spanish LibGuide
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this!!!! After a few tries and some help (thanks Grace), I found out how easy it was! I was trying to make it really complicated and that's what was tripping me up.
I think this tool is one of our best, because it gives us the opportunity to find out stuff our patrons might need to know on the website!
This one has to be my favorite so far ;)

Task 7 - Cloud Computing
Right off the bat I preferred Google Docs over Dropbox!!!! And it's cheaper and easier to use as well, which is always a bonus! I love the idea that you can keep your files and photos safe and sound.
I would totally recommend this to our patrons.
Have a great Tuesday everyone!!!!!
Happy Computing ;)

Task 6 Helping patrons
So I am a little embarrassed to admit that I didn't do exceedingly well on this one. Oh well, that's why we're doing Webolution in the first place, to learn, right? I think I'm going to go back through the questions and see where I went wrong.
Here's my own multiple choice question scenario:
A patron comes up asking for a book about spiders. It has to have a lot of pictures because it's for her twenty-seventh tattoo.
A. Tell her about the computers downstairs to be able to find Google image for spiders
B. Try to capture an example around the library that she can look at for reference
C. Show her how to use the card catalog for spider books
D. Refer her to the Children's center for more picture books on the subject
E. Answers A,C and D

Extra Credit - Google A Day
So I was stuck too!!!! Thankfully I had help of my own to get me to where I needed to be. I think I was trying to over complicate this task! This was a little harder for me because I couldn't figure out what the rules were. Are you allowed to Google things? Were we suppose to just guess until we got to 67 miles? Did we need to get to Google Maps and go from there? I finally found what I was looking for by cheating and going for the plain old Google site, which I figured was okay, because it is called GOOGLE A DAY after all!!!!!
So I too have failed this mission, but I hope that I can still be in the drawing for my efforts :)
I'll go for the gift certificate. Maybe I'll buy a bike with it!!!!!

Task 5 - Chilton page
So I was really excited about this one! I looked up my new little Ford Focus and got ready to do some research on how to master any problem that might come my way. That is until I realized...I know NOTHING about cars! This would be a wonderful site for someone that was gifted with the proper car fixing talents that we all pay high prices for! I did like how it showed the diagrams and went through instructions step by step. I looked through the brakes, fuel system and diagnostic trouble codes (whatever those are). As fancy and detailed as it was, I'm afraid it was all a little lost on me.
Oh well, we can't all be mechanics!
I will recommend this site to anyone who asks about the Chilton's books (and applaud their attempt at repairing their car). It is truly fabulous!
Luv Sarah
