November task - Cloud Computing

I LOVE this!!! What a great resource for us and our patrons. The video was very informative and for all the people that want to create awesome resumes and do Ancestry research, we have a wonderful site here. I think the library uses Cloud Computing all the time and what a great discovery for those of us who didn't know such a thing existed.

September task

Hey all,

I got a 100% on my quiz!!!! Everything was really easy to find and I think that it will be SO helpful this coming election to have something to direct the patrons to for questions and it's nice to have something for our own questions as well.

Aug task

So I took some time to update and change some of my profile pics and name! It was quite fun I must say :)

So here's what happened on September 12th, 1927
Prizefight for WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT TITLE between World Champion Gene Tunney and contender Jack Dempsey.
Whoo Hoo, if you're in to that sort of thing. I was kind of hoping for something just a bit cooler than that! Why can't I share a birthday with Frank Sinatra or when they put a man on the moon? Oh well, I guess it's up to me to make September 12th memorable in it's own right! Being published would be a perfect start ;)

And I was very glad to find out that the minimum temperature for cooking pork is 160 F! I have a beautiful pork roast that I plan to cook this weekend and probably would have had to look it up anyway.

July Task - New Opac

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new Opac. I think it will make our lives a lot easier. I put holds on all sorts of great stuff, like Sinatra Bio's and writing books. I've been looking it over every spare chance I've gotten, so I think I'm pretty familiar with it, but I love that I can learn more. This is going to be a great change :)

June Task - Newseum's Front page

I just finished looking through Newseum's front page and absolutly LOVED it!!! I loved how you could see any front page you wanted and that they were really self explanatory. Like did you know that the Universal Studio's King Kong ride is now back in action and better than ever? I didn't even know it was shut down!!! Gotta love the internet, baby :)

May Task - Free e-books

I had a little trouble at first, but once I got the hang of it, I really enjoyed seeing what we have to offer. I would totally recommend this to our patrons and I think it's awesome we're offering such a variety of options for our patrons to read and learn :)

April task - Optimal Resume

I LOVE this!!! It will be so helpful to the many who come in here wondering about how to even start on their resumes. I like that we're keeping in mind those who are looking for work and doing our best to help them :)

March Task - Print-friendly tools

I've finally been able to see the benefits of print-friendly. It took awhile to catch on, but now it seems pretty easy, if I'm doing it right :)

Feb Task - Learn-A-test

Hi y'all,

I really enjoyed this one and I really think that anyone could learn a lot from it. I would defiantly suggest the Collage or GED preparation to patrons!

Jan Task - E-books

Hello all,

I've finally successfully downloaded 'the silver chair' and I can see why these hopefully will become popular in the future. It is so easy to just scroll and read and there are actually a variety of choices out there. It especially works for people who may not be able to see that well, because you can enlarge the print and it works also for those who can't hold a book. My grandmother always complains that it hurts her neck and back when she has to hold a book, but she loves to read! I'm going to suggest this for her for sure!
